Leadership Lessons from Steve Jobs (the late and great CEO of Apple)
Today I bring you a two-minute video of Steve Jobs. He gives us a lot of tips about how to lead a company. His ideas are just as useful for big companies as they are for startups. In fact, Jobs explains that “Apple is organized like a startup”, the biggest on the planet, of course.
Apple Leadership Pill from Steve Jobs
-
Apple is an incredibly collaborative company.
-
They have a weekly three-hour meeting to discuss everything they are doing in the business.
-
Teamwork is based on trusting others, trusting others to do their part without supervision.
-
They have to choose the best ideas, even if they are not the boss’s. If not, the best workers would not want to stay.
“What I do all day is meet with teams of people and work on ideas and solve problems to make new products, to make new marketing programs, whatever it is.”
“I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today? And whenever the answer has been “No” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.”
